Alex is not really a human, but a composite of biological material that can change its shape as he wants to create new weapons or, more interestingly, consume and take the form of another living being, even absorbing their memories and experiences. Prototype is a game of action, in which the story revolves around Alex Mercer, a character with superpowers that can, for example, turn your hands into sharp claws, shields and all kinds of weapons.
